Teary Eye of the Storm

Teary Eye of the Storm  (click to hear the poem recited)

(Observations during a major thunderstorm)

I brought with me the rain today

she sensed exhaustion in my grief

she kissed my mouth;

cupped my face;

absorbing water from my cheeks;

she knew my cries were weary

and saw that I was weak;

I grasped her hands in whispered anguish;

pleading my appeal;

she smiled

said as she walked away

“I’ll show them what you feel”

(original poetry by Iya Isoke)

About The "SoKey" Experience

Each morning I wake I pour myself into a goblet, slowly inhaling the scent of my own faults, swirling them around the glass, allowing them to breath, then I sip, allowing my own inconsistencies to soak my tongue before swallowing. If I am tipsy from my own frailties - I'm less likely to become drunk on yours. -SoKey (introspection)
