Just Thinking

We Don’t Need No Water, Let The…

If you’ve only every experienced the heat which warms your room; held your hands over the hot plate and knew only this plate is where heat comes from and not to touch the surface.
If you believed warmth is provided by the plate and you were admonished that it is too hot to touch; to touch it will cause irreparable harm then you will not touch that plate.
If that hot plate is the extent of your knowledge, and you don’t have critical thinking skills or curiosity to look beneath the surface because of your blind faith in the one who gave you the warning and you were grateful they wanted to protect you from burning your hands then you will slightly fear the plate.
If that is the bubble in which you live then you will resist hearing news of a raging fire below.
You will stare at that hotplate and doubt the existence of fire; doubt the power of fire; say people are exaggerating about fire and you will not lift the hot plate, even after noticing a disruption in your vision from air standing in layers of different densities from increasing temperatures and seeing embers rise from beneath that plate.
All for fear that the thing you have believed in will be found false.
The integrity of intelligence is burning inside a raging fire yet there is a “base” of Americans staring at their hot plate in defiance.

About The "SoKey" Experience

Each morning I wake I pour myself into a goblet, slowly inhaling the scent of my own faults, swirling them around the glass, allowing them to breath, then I sip, allowing my own inconsistencies to soak my tongue before swallowing. If I am tipsy from my own frailties - I'm less likely to become drunk on yours. -SoKey (introspection)
